Meet Audrey "Buffy"

Buffy was born and raised in Alexander City, Alabama. She is the eldest child of Nathaniel and Mabys Colvin. She has 2 younger brothers Nathan and Jamie. Nathaniel II, Big Quay, K Marie, Jayda & Aubree think she is the best Auntie ever. She is Auntie to hundreds of other children. Buffy's Dad passed when she was 9 years old but instilled in her the importance of education in that short time. She is proud graduate of Benjamin Russell High School with the always live Class of 1985. Buffy is a Talladega College alumna. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science. While at Talladega she pledged and became a member the greatest sorority ever in Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority, INC. She also received a degree from California College of Health Sciences in Respiratory Care.

Buffy is a very hard worker. She is passionate about being a servant to others. She devoted over 31 years of her life to the patients, co-workers and friends as a Respiratory Therapist. She is employed as a part-time therapist at Russell Medical to keep her skills sharp. She is a Paraprofessional-Self Contained and Bus Aide with the Alexander City Board of Education and has been employed at Nathaniel H. Stephens Elementary School for 3 years. She spoils children everyday in the classroom and on the bus.   

Buffy has served on several boards and organizations. She was elected to be District 2 Council Member in 2016. The past 8 years she has proven that she is a voice for everyone. She has served as Council President for the past 4 years. Buffy has made sure that the council is  progressive and puts Alexander City before any special interest.

Family is important to Buffy. Buffy's dear Mom, Mabys, passed in January 2023. She was a major influence in Buffy's life. She wanted Buffy to run for Mayor in 2020 but Buffy choose to fight covid and think about the next election cycle. Mabys informed all of her friends that Buffy would be the next Mayor of Alexander City before her transition. Buffy regrets she is starting this race without her Mom by her side but she knows she is always with her. Mabys raised Buffy to be independent and resilient. 

It is with her Mom's spirit and blessing that Buffy is running for Mayor of Alexander City. A vote for Buffy is a vote for ALEXANDER CITY not special interest.
